Grace Baptist Church in Rogers, 2409 W. New Hope Road, hosts a kite-flying day from 2 to 5 p.m. today. "Flying High With Jesus" features fun for the whole family.
Bring a kite or build one at the church. Materials wil be provided. Prizes will be given for the most original kite, highest flying kite, kite that stays up the longest and more.
Bring lawn chairs.
Jehovah's Witnesses in Northwest Arkansas host a Special Assembly Day from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and Sunday at the Springdale High School Performing Arts Center. The topic is family life, particularly the proper training of children.
Demonstrations, skits and conversations will help participants prepare for real life situations parents and children face.
There is no fee. The sessions are open to all.
Ecclesia College in Springdale hosts Steve Henderson at the Jones Center For Families at 7 p.m. Thursday. His visit is part of the ongoing series "Education in the 21st Century: Exploring the intersection of faith and learning."
Henderson makes a compelling case for Christ-centered education. He uses statistics, analogies and more to provoke conversation about what the current and next generations of students face.

First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista presents Aldo and Judith Mancinelli in concert at 4 p.m. April 6 as part of the Wesley Concert Series.
The two-piano recital will feature works by Mozart, Chopin and Gershwin. The Mancinellis have performed around the world. A free-will offering will be taken.

The John Brown University Cathedral Choir presents a concert at the church at 4 p.m. Sunday. An offering will be taken to assist the choir in their upcoming tour of Ireland.
The church hosts the Calico Cut-ups Quilt Guild annual quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and April 5.
The Fayetteville First Assembly of God, 550 E. 15th St., hosts revival services this week with Mike Brown of Strong In the Lord Ministries. Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. Monday through Wednesday services are at 7 p.m. Information: 442-5653.
Southside Church of Christ in Rogers hosts a Community Give-Away from 8 a.m. to noon April 12. Items include clothing for adults, children and infants, furniture, small and large appliances, toys and electronics. Everything is free. No dealers, please.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista hosts the spring gathering of the Presbyterian Women of Arkansas from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 5. The Rev. Georgia Senor of Huntsville will lead worship. Sheron Antczak of San Antonio, Texas, Presbyterian Women moderator of the Sun Synod, will give the keynote address.
A three-part study on the history of the Bible is slated for 6 p.m. April 9, 16 and 23.
The church sponsors a monthly sing-along at Highlands Healthcare Center on Rogers Road at 2:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The public is invited to join in.

Abundant Life Ministries in Bella Vista begins a new schedule April 6. Prayer will be at 8:30 a.m., with Sunday school at 9 a.m. and a worship service at 10 a.m. Communion is served the first Sunday of the month. Nursery care is available.

Scott and Carolyn Buss of the Institute of Music, Worship and the Arts will lead worship on April 6, with Wayne and Sandy Warmack joining them. Roy Ralph of Springfield, Mo., will be the guest speaker on April 13.
Highlands Church in Bella Vista hosts a concert of gospel and sacred music at 2 p.m. Sunday. The family of Darrell Archer, composer, singer and recording artist, will perform. The concert is another in the church Music for a Sunday Afternoon series. A free-will offering will be taken.
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers celebrates the anniversary of the dedication of the church at 8 a.m. Mass on Friday. The anniversary is celebrated as a solemnity, which is more significant than a feast.
The Solemnity of The Annunciation of the Lord is Monday, moved from the normal feast day of March 25. Mass is celebrated at 8 a.m.
Sharing Sunday is next weekend, April 5 and 6. Food and prayers are accepted for the Food Pantry, which serves more than 400 families a month. Information: Tony Howard at 925-7857.
Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville hosts Jonathan Story in concert at 3 p.m. April 13. A love offering will be accepted to benefit the Saint James United Methodist Church restoration project. St. James is a historically significant African American church located near downtown Fayetteville on North Willow St.
Story, 25, is pursuing a master's degree in piano performance at the University of Arkansas. He has served as organist at Central United Methodist for six years and is known for his innovative style. He has also worked with the UA Wind Symphony, the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and the UA Symphony Orchestra.
Judson American Baptist Church in Bella Vista hosts Bob Cheyne, "Voice of the Razorbacks" for 21 years, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Cheyne will share his life experiences.
The American Baptist Women's Ministries meet at noon Tuesday. A guest speaker from Crystal Bridges will inform the group of the progress of the museum.
