Washington Regional Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2008 Outstanding Health Leadership Award, also known as The Eagle Award.

Established by Washington Regional Foundation to honor individuals or organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to the improvement and/or delivery of health care services in the four-county area of Northwest Arkansas, the award will be presented at Washington Regional Foundation's 15th annual gala on April 1 at the Walton Arts Center.

Proceeds from Gala 2008, "An Evening with Righteous Brother -- Bill Medley," will be used to support important community health initiatives.

The eagle is long admired for its vigor, size, grace and incredible vision. The 2008 Eagle Award recipients will possess these same unique qualities that enable them to make an immeasurable difference in the world in which we live, organizers said. In 2007, the award was presented to Eddie Bradford and Butch and Roy Clinton for their contributions to health care in Northwest Arkansas. Other examples of nominees include volunteers, businesses, organizations, physicians, nurses, health care professionals/providers and government officials.

Eagle Award nominations will be accepted and reviewed by a confidential committee who will evaluate nominees based on specific criteria. Deadline for nominations is Dec. 14.

Individuals wishing to nominate a colleague or organization deserving of this honor can complete an application online at www.wregional.com or call 444-9888 for more information. Applications can be mailed to Washington Regional Foundation, Outstanding Health Leadership Award, P.O. Box 356, Fayetteville, AR 72702.
