SPRINGDALE -- Springdale Har-Ber offensive lineman Jared Grigg committed to play college football for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, Wildcats coach Chris Wood said Friday.
Grigg (6-6, 240) is the first in a class of nearly 30 seniors at Har-Ber to commit to play college football. He runs a 5.0 second 40-yard dash, squats 410 pounds and powercleans 280.
"He's an athlete at tackle," Wood said. "Who wouldn't want an athlete at tackle? He has so much upside that it's unbelievable, and I think he's going to fit in well with coach (Gus) Malzahn's scheme at Tulsa."
Grigg is one of 19 returning starters for a Wildcat team that finished 2-8 in 2006. Har-Ber will open its season Aug. 31 at home against Lawton (Okla.) MacArthur.
